Marc Jacobs is no newbie to the New York Fashion Week. Known for his spectacular presentations, Jacobs scaled back on this year’s performance and let the collection speak for itself. Held at the Park Avenue Armory like every year, the sitting was limited for 180 people, Jacob’s brought a quartet playing a minor key tune to set the tune for the runaway. The whole stage was dark except for the runaway where focus lights were shone on the models walking and the quartet.
“Each look will be an exaggeration of our view of who each of the women is. For lack of a better word, it’s like a cabin of women we love.”
The palate was balanced with pops of bright color and muted tones. The fabric used was mostly luxurious with a lot of feather looks. The collection consisted of coats and capes, sweater and skirts and dresses. But the biggest surprise of the evening was when Marc Jacob brought back Christy Turlington – the 90’s supermodel to close the collection. Turlington who was last seen on the runway in ’94 was dressed in a black feathered dress and leather boots and looked like a black swan.
