Vivienne Westwood exhibited her fall and winter 2017 collection at Paris Fashion Week. Exotic patterns and layered outfits breezed down the runway. Westwood’s collection featured mostly pantsuits and funky patterns. The use of contrasting colors such as bright red with dark purples or white with gold was a significant part of the collection. A must have piece from the collection would be a pantsuit. The shirt has a white and black pattern on it. The jacket appears to be a black velvet jacket with gold trimming and embellishments. The jacket is paired with red velvet pants with a silver crescent moon, a gold full moon, and two black rectangles around the knee. In her 2017 collecton, she features multiple patterns that add depth to the ensemble.
Westwood is known for her exotic designs and statement pieces. Westwood’s collections surely did not shy away from her usual concepts. Her collection featured a mash up of different fabrics, fabrics with faces on them, gold embellishments, black and white patterns, floral patterns, and others.
Her designs did not just stop at her clothing but with her accessories and face painting. In multiple of her designs, Westwood had her models dawn crowns that were a mash up of different things. It also featured the colors used throughout her collection. In other cases the headbands or crowns worn by the models featured words. Westwood also used the model’s faces as a canvas too. Some models had a mosaic of squares painted across their mouths or the entirety of their faces. Others had singular boxes painted on their faces. One model had red glitter blocked out in the central portion of her face.
