Hello beauty fans! We are quickly approaching the holiday season, so if you are looking for some stellar beauty products to help you make a grand entrance at all those holiday parties coming up we have some product reviews for you! We chose MAC first because let’s face it, they turn out some amazing holiday products with gorg packaging! This year they have a whimsical Nutcracker theme. The packaging is made up of pink, gold, and black with different shapes and patterns, and we love it! The collection has so many pieces to it, it is impossible to review every single one, so we have picked out our favorites and played with them. Let us just say, we are really impressed with the products this year, so grab your favorite drink, settle in, and let’s talk holiday beauty!
First product up is the Nude Lip bag. This set comes in a dark and light pink diamond patterned vinyl bag with gold rope accents. In this bag you get a lipstick, vamplify gloss, and a lip liner.
Magic spell- This lipstick is a midtone mauve nude. The texture is creamy with some sheen to it. We love the hydration factor in this lipstick!
Tuned in- Midtone rosey nude. This is the most pigmented lip gloss on the market! We love the texture and high shine of this bad boy!
In control-This is a brown mauve lip liner with an eight-hour wear.
Tip: to make your lipstick last longer line and fill in your lips with the pencil and then put your lipstick on top
Gold pigments and glitter kit:
This is perhaps one of our favorite products this year! This is a set of 3 mini glitters and 1 mini pigment. It comes in the same pattern as the lip bag, but pulls out at the bottom like a drawer! What we love about this year’s sets is there is a red glitter!! Normally, we don’t see a bright red glitter in holiday sets so we jumped at the chance to grab this one!!
In this set you get the following glitters and pigment:
Heritage Rouge: Dirty brown plum
Reflects Rust : Warm red
Gold : Chunky gold
English Gilt : Bright Champagne
Normally, the glitters in the holiday kits are hard to work with because the glitter particles are large. However, MAC has finally realized this, and the glitter particles this year are smaller making it a lot easier to apply!
MAC does not recommend using the glitter on, or around the eye area. However, myself and other artists have used it on our own and client’s eyes for years without any issues. However, if you are a contact lens wearer I do not recommend using it.
Tip: To make sure the glitter or any pigments for that matter stay put use a glitter adhesive. Our favorite is the Too Faced Glitter Glue. It makes using glitter and pigments a breeze, and they stay put ALL night!
Copper face compact:
Also following the same pattern as the above products except the powders are stamped with a rope pattern, so cute! In this set you get a highlighter and a mineralize blush.
Whisper of Gilt-You know we had to talk about this one! Whisper of Gilt highlighter is life! It’s a pale gold shimmer that gives Jeffree Star’s King Tut some stiff competition! MAC only launches this shade during holiday time, so if you want to grab this one go to your nearest MAC location because it’s sold out online!
Pleasure Model- This is a peachy brown blush. It’s from the mineralize line so it gives you color payoff with some luminosity!
Tip: Apply whisper of Gilt over Pleasure Model for a beautiful bronzey gold highlight!
These also make really good gifts as well! So if you find yourself struggling to find the perfect gift for someone in your life, look no further! We will be doing a full makeup gift list in the coming weeks so stay tuned!
