On Tuesday, a tricky event happened on the America’s Got Talent stage between two judges, Mel B and Simon Cowell. “Tonight, I will attempt my most death-defying escape yet”, said by Escape Artist Demian Adity, and when it failed with audiences’ taunt and buzz, host Tyra Banks explained it was a technical problem rather than Adity’s fault. At the very embarrassing moment, Simon Cowell made sharp comments: “I kind of imagine this would be like Mel B’s wedding night”, surprisingly, Mel B straightly walked to Cowell and threw a cup of liquid on him yet Cowell continued, “a lot of anticipation, not much promise or delivery.”
Other than the tricky incident between two judges, one performing team, Light Balance, did not successfully make their show alive. Host Banks exhaustedly explained, “I was feeling like the show was totally falling apart and I had to hold it together with my rings.” As no one can expect such a talent show full of chaos and mess really appearing on television, producers did not cut off the buzzing part, so lots of passive comments are made by netizens.
User Mary Oleary says, “The whole thing looked totally staged. Fake, fake, fake. All planned for publicity. I’m so disgusted and embarrassed for their planned behavior.”
Not sure whether this incident is on purpose or for real, nonetheless, Mel B referred to performer Evie Clair’s story and explained her abnormal manner to E! News, “(the story) really made me cry because it made me think about my dad, and my dad recently passed from cancer also, with an almost 8-9 years struggle. So a story like that from such a young girl really touches my heart…She just sounded so beautiful and I couldn’t stop crying, so I go from that to Simon saying something so rude and inappropriate.” And she continued, “so, my journey tonight was all over the place. But I’m a very real, honest person, so what you see is what you get.” Besides, Banks cracked a joke, “Simon loves to tease Mel like he’s her little sister. Like she’s his little sister. I think I need to go to bed.”
