Burberry has recently spurred much excitement due to its change of leadership. The British brand recently handed the reigns of creative directorship the Riccardo Tisci. However, on the cusp of the brand’s new era, the iconic British heritage label has opted for a throwback.
The brand’s Fall/Winter 2018 season will see a partnership with the American brand Opening Ceremony. The partnership has announced that it will be producing a collection that is heavily reminiscent of mid-90s athleisure.
Some of the pieces, such as a selection of cotton tees and jersey sweaters, were taken from the 1995 and 1996 collections. The pieces will come in a variety of neutral tones as well as matching track pants, thus serving up some legitimate 90s vibes. Prices will range from $240 to $650.
This collection also features many rainbow motifs, which can, in fact, be seen as a callback to Burberry’s former creative director, Christopher Bailey, whose last fashion show featured many LGBTQ+ themes.
The collection was officially made available on July 13th on openingceremony.com as well as the brand’s New York and Los Angeles stores.
