Miss Universe is on a rampage…
After conquering the Miss USA pageant and then Miss Universe in 2012, Olivia Culpo now makes her mark in the fashion world as she signs her first ad campaign for Rampage. The Iconix Brand Group has tapped the budding actress, slash model (slash humanitarian) in their long list of star-studded shoots.
Culpo joins of a group of impressive women who have graced Rampage ads. She follows the pages of Chrissy Teigen, Gisele Bündchen, Bar Refaeli, Irina Shayk, Hannah Davis and Petra Nemcova. As licensing partners, Candie’s and Material Girl have also tapped Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland and singer Pia Mia for their respective campaigns.
Culpo is humbly honored as she tells WWD, “This is really exciting. I loved working for the brand and am really flattered they chose me along with Gisele, Bar and Chrissy.”
Shot by Mark Andrew in a Brooklyn penthouse last month, Culpo models Rampage’s line of embellished skinny jeans, a denim shirt dress with laced pockets and a collection of booties ranging from midi length to ankle cut. While focusing primarily on Rampage’s denim spectrum, the campaign will also feature the brand’s handbags and accessories, including a few trendy choker pieces.
Culpo comments on her favorite look from the shoot: the denim dress with pocket embellishments; “It’s a really good segue from summer into fall, and it’s a good look for me,” she said.
With her first movie, The Other Woman, wrapped and another in production (details are being kept hush-hush other than its location in Texas) Olivia seems to be wearing a multitude of fashionable hats these days. E! News already looks to Culpo for her fashion expertise as she joined regulars Giuliana Rancic and Zanna Roberts Rassi on the red carpet at the Met Gala this year.
Culpo also has a beauty deal with L’Oréal, promoting its cosmetic line alongside 14 other bloggers, YouTube sensations and famed Instagrammers.
Olivia simply can’t contain her excitement for fashion and its ever-evolving trends as she already has her sights set on New York Fashion Week come September:
“I’m looking forward to New York Fashion Week in September. Every year I have a new hit list. This year, I’m going to Zac Posen and Marchesa. I just wore a really great Marchesa outfit and I also love Georgina [Chapman, Marchesa cofounder],” she continues, “Even more than the designers, I love the energy of New York Fashion Week and the people walking around. Everyone’s taking their fashion to the next level and I just love it.”
Something tells us this isn’t the last fashion campaign we’ll see for Culpo and if her Rampage predecessors are any indication, we’re expecting big things from Miss Universe. Or, should we say, bigger things.
