Sales from fashion designer Ivanka Trump, who is also President Donald Trump’s daughter, are blossoming. Despite the avoidance from a majority of shoppers who have lost interest in the brand because of Ivanka’s father’s policies, Ivanka’s line seemed to have a booming increase in business.
At the start of February, her brand was experiencing her biggest sales, especially in online shopping. Abigail Klem, who is now president of Ivanka’s company, has specified that the latest purchases have been Ivanka’s “best performance ever”. There is a website called Lyst, which has been overlooking purchasing data online and has said that her clothing line has expanded a whopping 346 percent in just the last couple of months. Klem hopes that in the month of March, clothing will be purchased so sales go up 8 percent more.
This has been great news for Ivanka Trump, who has been receiving a lot of criticism because of those who do not support President Donald Trump. Fashion has always been significant. Because of current news, many individuals pick up on the styles that Hillary Clinton has been wearing or judge how the new President and his family dress. This influences people to go out and find what the leaders of America are wearing and feel some sort of connection towards them. Lyst’s PR director Sarah Tanner has explained how the 460 percent raise of pantsuits have gone up because Hillary Clinton has been wearing them and the elevated sales of Ivanka Trump’s brand have been related to the election. If these so called celebrities are wearing certain outfits, people want to be seen in them, too. Ivanka Trump, being a young mother of three attracts a crowd who relate to her to show their support to her brand.
The fashion line has also been drawing interest because of the love for the Trump family in general. You have women who buy Trump’s perfume specifically because Ivanka wants you to wear this scent or match this scarf with this skirt. It is crazy how much love you can have for someone and use it for your own advantage. People who love Donald Trump usually want to be there for the rest of the clan, including Ivanka Trump and her garments that some of the public did not realize she had. They gravitate more towards her cheaper, but lovely accessory line as well. Retail sites, such as Zappo’s, Macy’s, and Bloomingdale’s have been on the high end of most of the sales. They still are adding more and more new stock from Ivanka’s line, thus keeping up with the demand of the attire. That right there is a great indication of how well Ivanka Trump’s merchandise has been doing.
However, there is quite a lot of backlash from the community. This was probably due to Nordstrom and other retailers who were working closely with a campaign called “Grab Your Wallet”. This campaign was designed to boycott companies to stop selling Ivanka Trump’s product, as well as Donald’s. When Donald Trump ran for President and then became the 45th President of the United States of America, Ivanka stated that she would be stepping down from her apparel brand for a while. Another movement did come out, though, that was in favor of still continuing or aiding Ivanka’s fashion label. This will push for more sales in the next couple of months, Tanner is anticipating. She thinks the brand has not been doing as well as it is now. Hopefully, the label will continue flourishing for Ivanka Trump. Her clothing seems to fit the mold of every crowd.
