Nicole and Michael Colovos released their new collection on the runway at NYFW on Thursday, February 8.
Ranging from a wide variety of solid colors and loose-fitted overcoats, the Colovos gallery presented a style with opposites – business-like and simple, but with a relaxed and comfortable vibe. Some of which resembled what you’d wear running – not walking – but running out in the morning to rush to work after hitting the snooze button too many times. A slightly unkempt yet poised look is what the Colovoses portrayed.
Almost as if that “I woke up like this” look as come back – not only for the streets, but even for the work day. Comfort and maturity is what you could see on the runway for this gallery.
Beginning with colors of dark red, black, and white, seguing into dark blues and greens showed the seasonal colors of nature in the winter. Cloudy and cold days practically beg for dark colors. Some fur material to protect against that bitter wind chill changed the underlying plainness of the pants, blouses, and skirts by adding the more bold fur to the working woman’s simple office look. The blazer-based outfits and pantsuits were mostly striped in some way, giving the sense of uniformity in a day at the office.
Later the colors remain all black or all Sapphire blue in one-piece outfits, spanning from dresses to pantsuits. These presented the more held-together look for the day, ones that you didn’t procrastinate after jumping out of bed and sprinting to work.
A new edge to what practicality and success can look like, the Colovos collection of February 2018 brings you the beauty of reality – what an actual day out looks like if you’re a hard-working success story in the making, which is mostly likely you!
