Don’t be afraid to embrace your inner villain with wild colored hair. The new hair colors from Splat will let you change your identity every day with a range of 11 different colors.
Villains are normally the most colorful characters and the ones we remember best as we love to hate them. The new female villain hitting our screens is Harley Quinn and we can’t wait to see a bad girl, especially one from “Suicide Squad”. In the movie, which premieres August 5th (were counting down the days), the beautiful and talented Margot Robbie plays Quinn. As Quinn, she sports bleached hair with bright pink and blue at the ends. Colorful hair for the female villain has always been a staple no matter the era of the comic book.
The rising interest around the new female villain and the popularity of temporary hair colors for summer, as seen by Bella Hadid and Kylie Jenner, the hair-color brand Splat have created a collection of 11 vibrant hair hues for Wal-Mart, Target, Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid and Hot Topic.
“Harley Quinn is so much fun. She’s definitely right for our target audience, and we thought the movie was a great fit to build brand awareness,” said Helen Crutchfield-Christoni, vice president of marketing for parent company Developlus Inc. She continued by adding, “we printed only 350,000 pieces of these. They are very limited and are already selling out like crazy.”
Despite there being 11 incredible colors, Splat is selling 10 different boxes to house the colors that are in the “Suicide Squad” lineup. Quinn is featured on all the boxes, showing that this female is at the top of the squad, except of course for one box that contains the famous green donned by the Joker. His iconic shade is called Scream Green. The Joker will be played by Jared Leto in the upcoming movie.
It’s expected that Pink Fetish and Blue Envy, the closest matches to Quinn’s hair colors in the movie, will be bestsellers in the “Suicide Squad” collection. The other shades are Purple Desire, Lusty Lavender, Crimson Obsession, Bleach, Luscious Raspberry, Berry Blast, Aqua Rush and Pink & Blue. The name of the shades on their own makes us want to buy them. A further incentive to buy the kits is the promise of receiving a special-edition “Suicide Squad” comic book.
Splat introduced the new “Suicide Squad” kits, priced at $8.99 each, at Beautycon in LA on Saturday. The brand advertised their product by reportedly reproducing Quinn’s famous vibrant hairstyle on 400 heads, with blue and pink chalks.
Make sure to head to one of the listed stores to grab your favorite hair color and embrace your inner Harley Quinn. You’ll either feel like saving a city or donning on some hot pants and laughing hysterically. Or maybe just embrace rainbow hair, after all, it is all the rage at the minute.
