The Australian-born fashion designer Kym Ellery encompassed Paris in her newest collection. The chic tones were accompanied with Texas spice, vivaciously sparking flavor into the familiar silhouettes with western glamour.
While black and white were the base colors for the collection, shades of baby-blue, burnt orange, and lime green were spotted in the collection. A hot little number was the all-black power suit with white piping that added a cool, sophisticated twist and the cowboy shirt served as a button up midi dress, finished with fine fringing. On the topic of fringing, Ellery took the idea in a more Eastern direction, with a kimono-style floral dress, the fringe dramatizing the statement sleeve.
However, one can’t forget the bread and butter staple piece behind the operation: the ruffled statement blouse. In the Resort collection, there were a variety of Victorian styled blouses at a relatively affordable price, paired with flared pants or ankle-length skirts. In addition, the theme of “forever” dress was interpreted by Ellery in her own way with a romantic puff-sleeved dress made from English silk taffeta. An assortment of ‘70s-inspired bell-bottoms were thrown into the mix, the denim pair in particular selling like mad. Last, but certainly not least were the slouchy, high-waisted trousers that are in high demand for street style fashion. Overall, the collection was another success thrown into the Resort 2018 mix.
