Body positivity is a strong movement that is growing more and more every day in our society. In the fashion world, body image was always such a big issue. To be a model or to look good in certain clothing you would always have to be a certain size, and usually that size did not go higher than a two. Luckily, our culture has shifted away from deeming only a size two beautiful and has embraced self-love and love for all different woman body types.
To stay on top of the game in fashion, staying up to date with the latest things going on in society is a must. There have been many clothing companies and designers who have started adding more adds with plus size models and are designing clothing to fit all types of bodies. Big name designers are starting to add more to their plus size collections and companies such as Target and Aerie are beginning to feature all different body types in their promotional campaigns. With this growing wave of positive body image, the market for plus size clothing has dramatically increased.
Victoria Beckham has latched on to this new growing movement and is said to launch a new line at Target featuring a broad range of sizes going up to a size 24. Beckham is known for her more contour, higher end and higher priced pieces. With this new launch, she wants to sell more affordable garments. The line will launch April 9 and Target with some pieces available on her website. The line will be featuring over 200 pieces that cater to all different ranges of a woman.
Victoria is excited to venture into this new realm of fashion and is proud of what she has been able to accomplish so far. It is so different from anything else she has ever done, being that her other clothing collections were catered to women who have a similar petite frame like herself. She is eager to be able to grow and reach so many more women. She hopes this line will help any women find a piece they feel absolutely stunning in.
She is already very acclaimed in the fashion industry, after starting her first line almost ten years ago. Sadly, she had stopped seeing much success soon after launching some beginning lines mostly due to the high cost of most of her pieces. In past collections, most of her pieces were priced within the thousands of dollars’ range, but in her new line with Target, most garments will fall under the seventy dollars’ range. Moving into a growing market of affordable clothing and plus sized clothing was a smart move on Beckham’s part because she has been trying to find ways to grow her business.
Many people were surprised at first when they heard that Victoria was moving into these markets. Again coming from the background of designing tight expensive dresses and other pieces for straight body skinny girls then jumping into this new line was a complete and total leap of faith. But, people should not doubt what Beckham is capable of because this new line is absolutely gorgeous (without needing the high price tag).
The collection features many bright and intriguing colors, such as pinks, oranges, and yellows. To keep it more fashionable she added many details to the pieces to spice them up. She tailored the outfits and picked fabrics that would enhance a woman’s features instead of hiding them. She designed pieces that would look flattering on any body type and something any women of any size could feel comfortable wearing. These pieces are sure to be the hottest spring and summer trends and sales are predicted to rocket.
