Fashion fans rejoice, New York Fashion Week time is almost upon us once again! The Spring/Summer 2019 season kicks off September 6th, 2018 and CAAFD (The Council of Aspiring American Fashion Designers) has announced that Patricia Wijaya will be a featured designer!
Wijaya grew up in Jakarta, Indonesia, and graduated from Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California. Her collection, which will be featured in CAAFD’s New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2019 Showcase, combines a distinct art school flavor with a bit of Bay Area radicalism to gorgeous effect.
Wijaya’s pieces are described as being “inspired by both fairytales and technology, and showcases a Cinderella-like aesthetic in the future.” This modern-day Cinderella may not be going to a traditional ball, and she definitely does not need a Prince Charming, but she still exudes a certain regal grace which will no doubt attract a great deal of attention to Wijaya’s collection during Fashion Week.
Wijaya stated: “I am thrilled to have been chosen by the CAAFD to showcase this collection and cannot wait for this season’s show.”
