Brock Collection is taking the fashion world by a storm in recent months, winning the top prize in the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund last fall, and now releasing a killer Resort 2018 line. Including their first solo shoe collection, flat oxfords in floral silk, and first swimsuit, a ruffled one piece, the Resort collection is nothing but a success. In addition to their newest additions, the line also reflected on past categories as well, which was reflected in the signatures, a piece of advice given to Kristopher Brock and Laura Vassar from industry predecessors.
The vintage florals, corset dresses/tops, and ruffles were all a nice reminder of what the line was founded upon. The variety of elegant floral dresses in the newest line will leave fans wanting more, with lemon colored chiffon dresses and baby-blue frocks with ruffles. The line also offered a wide range of lengths, with floral shirtdresses hitting the ankle and a floor-length lilac gown.
Splashes of denim, poplin, and a new fan favorite, burlap, were among the fabrics found in the collection. Brock and Vassar stated they had originally planned on using tweed, but a mentor found burlap scraps at a vintage Newport Beach Studio, and they fell in love. The combination of tweed appearance and rustic sensibility make this new trend hot on the market. The material can be found on long-sleeved corset dresses with full skirts, wide leg trousers, lean coats, and shoes. The soft taupe adds a practical alternative to the ruffled dresses in the collection.
Fans of the original trends in the Brock Collection will love the newest takes on fashion. Fussy elegance with rustic simplicity is the perfect combination for a new Resort 2018 collection. The addition of new materials with old cuts will add a range of variety to your spring wardrobe.
