Coffee; it helps give you that up and at em’ jolt in the morning. It permeates throughout the house making everything smell cozy, and pleasant, and perhaps covering up last night’s cooking fiasco. Do not worry, no one is judging you. It fuels you through the day. If we could consume it through a constant intravenous we probably would. There is nothing in the world like a hot cup of Joe. Despite its’ popularity, why would anyone leave their house, and venture from the safety of Netflix, and the companionship of their cat to get coffee?

2.) It is can be a social activity.
Going to a coffee shop provides a chance to catch up with your friends without being barraged by a noise level loud enough to wake the dead. 3.) It is a great way to ditch a bad date.
Have you ever been on a bad date? Maybe they are about a decade older than their profile stated. Maybe they smell. Perhaps they are just really creepy or elude that they had other plans for the evening. Having coffee does not have to take a lot of time. You can rapidly gulp down coffee in an uncomfortable situation. Better yet alert staff if you feel like you are in an unsafe situation, or leave on a “bathroom break.” On the flip-side, if a date goes really well you can enjoy the cozy atmosphere and indulge in a long conversation with that new special someone.
4.) They offer light food.
If great coffee was not enough of a draw, most coffee shops offer pastries, cookies, danishes, and bagels. Many people feel a bit peckish in the morning or in the middle of the afternoon, and what is better than a light snack to hold you over until meal time? Croissants taste especially delectable in the morning, and the pairing of biscottis and tea will forever remain unmatched.
5.) It provides a great alternative (or solution) for alcohol.
With 30% of Americans having had an issue with alcohol abuse, coffee shops offer a solution for evening activities. Alcoholics Anonymous, a support group that helps individuals who are suffering from an addiction, believe that in order to beat an addiction, and best avoid relapsing one must discontinue the activity for the duration of their lifetime. Most coffee shops lack the temptation of alcohol and can fill empty blocks of time.
6.) They may have poetry nights.
Coffee shops, more often the ones with a hipster feel to them, may offer additional activities like poetry nights, or book clubs. These activities offer the opportunity to make new friends with similar interests and become a part of a community.
7.) It is not fiscally draining.
The only downside to treating yourself to time away from your work or home is checking your bank account later. Grabbing a coffee costs roughly $3 to $6 depending on your location or order. This appeals to a large demographic. Whether you are trying to save money, or do not have much wiggle room in your monthly budget, you do not have to worry about breaking the bank.
