In light of Pride Month and the imbuing celebrations, numerous fashion and athletic brands released collections in honor of Pride Month celebrations and the LGBTQ community. Pride Month is a celebration of the LGBTQ community, the Gay Liberation Movement and a demonstration of acceptance across all sexualities. These brands have embraced the LGBTQ community and used their platform to create acceptance and awareness of the community.
Nike’s BETRUE collection released a line of shoes, socks, t-shirts, and accessories. Nike introduces the line, “Celebrate the passion & pursuit of sport by all athletes with the Nike BETRUE Collection, which supports initiatives to end discrimination in sport.” The BETRUE collection featured a new colorway for the Air Max 270s. The upper was a simple white and black with the classic silhouette, but the bubbled heel was a rainbow colored. These shoes sold out immediately and are currently available on StockX for resale at nearly $300.

- Calvin Klein
The lingerie fashion house released a collection of lingerie called the Pride Capsule. The campaign, “Wear yours with Pride”, including men’s and women’s underwear in bright colors like lime green and fuschia. Calvin Klein also announced that they made a generous donation to the Human Rights Foundation to support LGBTQ rights. The limited edition collection is available online now.

Fast fashion brand, H&M, recently released their Pride campaign, Pride Out Loud. The brand featured a commercial with celebrity members of the LGBTQ community modeling the clothing. Models include activist, Gabrielle Richardson, Olympian, Gus Kenworthy, rapper, Aja, and many more. H&M promised to donate 10% of proceeds to the UN Free and Equal Campaign.

- Tommy Hilfiger
Tommy Hilfiger released the Pride Capsule which features a duffle bag, bandana, cap, t-shirt, and socks. All of these pieces have the modified Tommy emblem which features the LGBTQ rainbow flag and a heart. Hilfiger also promised to donate 35% of the purchase price of each item in the collection to the Human Rights Campaign Foundation between May 23rd to June 30th.
SpeedoUSA released a line of swimwear and clothing in celebration of Pride month. The line features a women’s’ one-piece swimsuit, men’s briefs, goggles, a silicone swim cap, and various t-shirts. With the slogan, “No matter which lane you swim in, we’re on your team.” In swimming competitions, the lanes in which a swimmer competes represents the team they swim for but also the rankings of the swimmers. Swimmers who swim in the innermost lanes are usually predicted to be faster than those swimming in the outermost lanes. Speedo’s slogan unites swimmers in all lanes regardless of their predicted performance.

- American Apparel
The iconic, sweatshop-free brand American Apparel has returned for a new launch for Pride Month. The “They O.K.,” collection celebrates all products in the gender spectrum.” The new line includes unisex clothing with slogans like, “Still Here. Still Queer.” The brand cast models from the LGBTQ community to model their clothing and promote a sense of acceptance across all genders and sexualities.

Adidas is also joining the pro-pride fashion club b releasing four shoes consisting of the Pure Boost DPR, the i-5932, the Campus and the Deerupt. Each shoe features bright colors and pastel tones for a unique and more subtle way to express support for hte LGBTQ community. Adidas also hired members of the LGBTQ community to model for the campaign.

The denim powerhouse released their Pride Collection which features pieces from rainbow-colored suspenders to Pride-themed denim trucker jackets. The collection also includes a T-shirt with a do-it-yourself feature. The t-shirt has the words, “I AM,” in bold and consumers are encouraged to fill in the sentence at the bottom half of the shirt.
