R&B artist Abel Tesfaye, commonly known as The Weeknd, just announced his newest collab via Instagram, but it’s not another music artist. His newest endeavor: the fashion world. Tesfaye is teaming up with Swedish company H&M for their Spring 2017 collection, featuring clothing from is own XO collection, as well as starring in the campaign and modeling his hand-picked favorites of the menswear line.
This was announced just one month after he announced his partnership with the sportswear brand Puma. He is the newest brand ambassador for the company as well as the creative collaborator. The PumaXO collection is set to drop in 2017, although the exact date or month has yet to be released. The collection will feature his own creations and designs and will be largely influenced by his own XO brand.
Along with this big announcement, the Weeknd is also holding multiple pop-ups this weekend (November 4th-6th) in stores throughout major cities to support and promote his third studio album called “Starboy.” “Starboy” is set to release in late November, At the pop-ups, we can expect to see plenty of streetwear, the typical theme of the XO lines in the past. Maybe we will see some sneak peaks of his PumaXO line as well? Let’s hope so! As of now, the locations announced are as follows:
New York – Opening Ceremony
Los Angeles – Los Angeles
Miami – Alchemist
London – Selfridges
Obviously, this past month, in fact this entire year, has been a pivotal time in Tesfaye’s career, and not just musically. Along with the release of two new singles, “Starboy” and “False Alarm,” the artist also announced his newest tour, starting February 17th in Stockholm. This is all after being nominated for eight Grammy awards, and winning two (Best R&B Performance and Best Urban Contemporary Album). This next year will be an even bigger year for him, and we are so excited to see what happens next!
