Irina Vitjaz had a big job: ending New York Fashion Week with a bang. And that she did. Known for her elegant gowns, the designer brought to the runway a showcase of her immense talent. Vitjaz is an emerging designer and growing larger by the day. Her Fall/Winter collection brought in a full house.
The designs themselves had a few prominent themes. Of the themes, the sparkling gowns stood out the most due to their eye-catching shine. The gowns were essentially transparent but the light reflections made it difficult to see so. Irina Vitjaz featured many of these gowns with belled sleeves, a unique take on the traditional ballgown. In addition, there were a few dresses that radiated sunshine, literally. Their bright, rich yellow color entranced the audience and lit up the dark room.
To embrace current runway trends, Irina incorporated floral patterns into many of the gowns. She added her own twist to many of these. One was a see-through shawl with a nude dress slip underneath. And finally, the designer took a more structured approach to the classic gown. Low-cut blazers were paired with elegant skirts with slits up the leg.
All in all, Irina Vitjaz is bound to rise to the top of couture designers, and each season we see her continual growth, and with a second monumental show produced by Resk ‘Que, the future can only get brighter.
