emale bloggers are taking charge of the blogging community, leaving the boys in the dust. I met up with an emerging male blogger, who isn't afraid to express his male perspective. Taylor Horne is a young entrepreneur who oozes talent working as a model, photographer, stylist and blogger in New York and Philadelphia, at just 22 years old.
Taylor is a Brit at heart; his English heritage originates in Durham and inspires his work and aesthetic every day. neo-Victorian elements meet classic novel imagery which is translated via his photography, blog and personal style. Taylor's life is like a lookbook of alternative punk-inspired British street style. His favorite designers include Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs, Alexander McQueen and Jean Paul Gaultier. When asked, Taylor describes himself as "weird is my normal."
Photography is his main passion and he got his formal education in photography with a strong concentration in fashion from Antonelli Institute in Pennsylvania. Taylor creates his own world which grew from a place where he felt he didn't fit into the waking world. With whatever free time is left in this busy boy's life, Taylor acts as an LGBT activist, helping others to find beauty within. In comparison to the lady fashion bloggers, Taylor offers a straightforward approach. "It's nice to have a man within fashion," he tells me. He thinks females are more in tune with fashion and beauty innately, whereas he understands fashion with a scientific method, offering weight to his words. The way in which he styles an outfit or captures the exact angle and lighting within a photograph is judged with mathematical precision. It's that skillful eye that propels his passion for aesthetic and his perspective is one to be reckoned with. In the future, Taylor aspires to be a style icon himself (no surprise there). Taylor's unique philosophy of fashion can be seen on his blog, www.taylorhornephotography.tumblr.com.
