he iconic annual music and arts festival took place this past month in Indio, California. Many festival goers, including celebrities and models alike, were dressed for the occasion in the essential outdoor festival garb. As Coachella debuted its duel weekend showcase, the drastic shift in weather was a surefire influence on the many costume changes over the two weekends.
The chilly weather in the golden state, reminiscent of a typical April in New York, fostered spring jackets and covered legs for Coachellaʼs first weekend. Even as those in attendance braved the weather in dresses and skirts, many were prepared with a warm jacket by their side. As the atmosphere began to warm up on the Sunday rounding up the first weekendʼs festivities, lace crop tops and denim cutoffs surfaced with incessant sightings. A leader of the pack on boho-chic wear, actress Vanessa Hudgens took the hippie crown adorned in flower rimmed flowing locks, wide rimmed hats and patterned tops.
As Coachella kicked off its second go around, the music scene was a reported duplicate affair, but no one dared risk to be caught in a repeat outfit. The main trend of carefree dressing remained a dominate theme over the second weekend, and as the sun continued to rise, many hemlines seemed to do the same. Hitting an almost record setting 105 degree temperature, it was hard not to expose too much skin. The sustained strong rays of sunlight seemed to virtually eliminate pants from the outdoor affair.
Simple, strategic dressing was the weekend craze, as scores of music fans voyaged across the many stages in one piece outfits with mini backpacks and cross shoulder bags. Ankle boots appeared to be a crowd favorite, saving many from the
unpleasant experience of dirty, injured feet. Countless celebrity sightings inspired a trend hunt for photographers, with the likes of models and musicians setting the standard for the top looks at the event. Certain individuals stood out in their festive
wear, like Katy Perry with her ivory see-through dress atop a black bikini and her deep purple mane. As couples trenched hand-in-hand, from Zoe Kravitz and Penn Badgley, to Fergie and Josh Duhamel, it was most often the female counterpart that carried the style crown.
While the fashion forward are usually decked head to toe in a layered mass of ą la mode season essentials, Coachella gave its attendees a chance to let loose in the wild world of free-spirited lace, distressed denim shorts, ever flowing dresses and\
festival approved footwear.
