o much individuality was on display in Poland; these designers seemed less focused on mainstream trends and followed the beat of their own drums. The collections ranged from sweet, asymmetrical minidresses at Langner to edgy, second-skin catsuits with cut-outs at Agnieska Maciejak, with a wide range in between.   Here were some of the highlights…

Dawid Tomaszewski showed much promise in his spring collection. He hit a high note with a gunmetal ¾ sleeve sheath with black sequin seaming that was super-chic. He rocked embellished nude leggings with large rhinestones, and reined them in with a smartly draped, belted gray sheath. A dip-dyed, dramatically pleated   black and white blouse was beautifully executed and paired with his sparkly leggings for an edgy and avante garde look. The sheer black jumpsuit and overdesigned, boxy, black ruffled dress were missteps, but that was forgiven with elegant silk gowns in solids and bold prints that floated beautifully down the runway.

Natalia Jaroszewska’s collection was a breath of fresh air. Youthful, fun, and bohemian, her collection was primarily done in neutrals but came alive with fresh silhouettes. Loose hair and plenty of bell-sleeved shifts were a throwback to the seventies. A champagne halter bubble dress with asymmetric hem was polished but youthful. A khaki cape-inspired shorts romper was simple, effortless, and sophisticated. Silky shorts were paired with casual, knee-high suede boots for a laid back vibe, and the patterned sheath dress in earth tones was the quintessential little spring dress.

Paprocki I Brzozowksi’s collection was very compelling and unique. The designer played with textures and proportion in unconventional ways and pulled it off with aplomb. Standouts in the collection? A black and white ruffled minidress with asymmetrical hem and patterned ruffles adorning the waist. An asymmetrical blue cape worn over a sheer blouse done in blue ombre on one side and a black and white print on the other was a true original. Frilly white miniskirts and retro tees were balanced with sheer black sophisticated minidresses with elaborate detailing (cut-outs, lace, ruffles). And a versatile, black sequined topper rounded out the collection. Models wore toe-less thigh high tights with the looks for a fun and punky vibe.
