Sherri Sheperd will be stepping out on Oscar Night in a design by Carmen Marc Valvo when she joins Jess Cagle and Kathy Ireland as hosts for the 82nd Academy Awards® pre-show “Oscars Red Carpet… 2010” on Sunday, March 7, 2010, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center®. Entertainment Tonight’s pre-Oscar coverage begins tonight with an interview with Sherri and her designer. This will be Shepherd’s first time hosting the Oscar® pre-show but certainly not her first time on a red carpet.
Sherri, who also has a recurring role on the Emmy award-winning sitcom “30 Rock” recently got recognition for her role in the Oscar nominated-film “Precious” which has drawn a lot of attention to the problem of child abuse and the plight of plus size women. Last year she dropped over 40 pounds from her 5-foot-1 frame and is determined not to gain it back.

Her style on the red carpet has always been a class act. She chooses low cut dresses to accentuate her bust line. She shows off her legs with dresses just below the knee. And her choice of jewel tones of deep blues, hot reds and regal purples compliment her complexion and her million dollar smile.
Carmen Marc Valvo’s couture designs have been worn by foreign royalty – HRH Princess Madeleine of Sweden – and entertainment royalty including Kate Winslet, Iman, Oprah and Mary J. Blige. This designer has been exploring his “soul’s desire to bring glamorous dressing to every woman’s life” since starting his career in 1989. With his creative contributions hanging in Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom’s and Bergdorf Goodman’s, his mission is being accomplished.
You’ll just have to wait to get a glimpse of Sherri’s Oscar outfit, but in the meantime take a look at some of her best moments walking the red carpet.
