The bustling streets of SoHo have a new neighbor to welcome. Located at 85 Mercer Street, Valeria Smith opened up her first shop in the United States. The ambrosial boutique offers a warm invite into the native Buenos Aires designer's world. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Smith studied graphic design and started a career in brand strategy projects until she found her real passion in accessory design. In 2007 she launched Jackie Smith, an Argentinian based accessories line. After several years of success, she decided to move into the luxury accessory market starting with New York. Valeria Smith is a family operated business. She handles the creative end acting as Creative Director and her husband, Julian Lozzia is the CEO of the company since the launch. His background includes The Boston Consulting Group and he has acted as executive leader in several South American fashion companies. When speaking about their working relationship Lozzia says, "[My wife and I] collaborate in ways I have seldom experienced in the different organizations..." and he goes on speaking about the company as "...an uncommon marriage of pure design and bespoke technology that we are starting to build the ultimate luxury consumer experience."
