TINAFEYTITLE

There is new social movement afoot called “superfunnysmart” feminism and funny lady Tina Fey is leading the way.  Writer Jonathan Van Meter branded Fey with the “superfunnysmart” tag in his Vogue cover story interview in the March issue with the writer-tv comedienne-movie actress.  Voguing beautifully for the cover Fey confesses that success has found her nearing the 40-year-old benchmark and it seems the media may be surprised by her success.

"I don't fit the mold," she says. "In this country, success usually happens when you are 22 and six feet tall….I feel like I represent normalcy in some way. What are your choices today in entertainment? People either represent youth, power, or sexuality.

And then there's me, carrying normalcy….Me and Rachael Ray."

Van Meter did his homework observing Fey at the gym at Four Seasons in Beverly Hills and visiting her on the set of 30 Rock, the award-winning comedy series that has sent Fey into the constellation of unforgettable funny stardom, with memories of her Sarah Palin impressionations floating to galaxies far away.  He gets Fey to give the 411 on her fashion philosophy, confessions on her fashion faux pas past, her position on the power of fashion, plus her love of Chicken McNuggets!

Her wit and words of wisdom serve as an inspiration for women – young or mature – who are worn out from trying to fit into an iconic female mold.  "I don't weigh myself. I just go by if my clothes fit,” Fey says.  "People will say, 'Oh, fashion magazines are so bad, they're giving girls a negative message'—but we're also the fattest country in the world, so it's not like we're all looking at fashion magazines and not eating. Maybe it just starts a shame cycle: I'm never going to look like that model, so…Chicken McNuggets it is!”

Fey refreshingly also gives us the skinny on her positive body image and other funny bits about her life.  “Because we were raised around art and went to museums and the women I grew up around were curvy… there wasn't this value on skinny, skinny, skinny. Curvy was clearly meant to be the winner. I go up and down a few pounds with a relative amount of kindness to myself. And I have a daughter, and I don't want her to waste her time on all of that."
