Why should women get all the fun showing off their new engagement rings?  Now, men can announce their upcoming nuptials with a sparkling piece of hardware.  The concept of men’s engagement rings has been around in other countries, but is only now catching on in the U.S. As with all new trends, a new catch phrase of “man-gagement” rings has been created.

A recent study on Brides.com stated that 45% of women would consider getting their fiancés an engagement ring.  Depending on one’s style and budget, these “man-gagement” rings can be plain, textured, or diamond studded.

The prices range from hundreds of dollars for a traditional white or yellow gold band to thousands of dollars for a more durable platinum band, a complex design, or the addition of diamonds.

Move over dogs, diamonds may turn out to be man’s new best friend.  So remember ladies, if you like him, put a ring on him.
