ivid colors, bold prints, unexpected texture mixes are most definitely my signature. If I had to choose a city that represented who I was as a designer, Miami is on the top of that list,” says Designer Ina Soltani.
The Bosnian born designer showed her collection at Miami’s 3rd Annual Rock Media Fashion Week last week, an annual four-day event of fashion, stars and music set against the tropical back-drop of a legendary Miami Beach resort.
Miami Beach, the home of Rock Media Fashion Week, has earned a reputation for introducing the hottest new designers to the hottest VIP’s.
“Rock Media Fashion Week was destined to take place at the Eden Roc Renaissance Miami Beach. Not only do both the resort and entertainment platform share similar names, both also act as innovative arenas for musicians and world-renowned designers to showcase their most beautiful and sought-after creations to the world,” said Scott Rosenblum, Founder, Rock Media & Entertainment. “2010 Rock Media Fashion Week is sure to set higher standards for talent, runway shows, exotic layouts, after-parties and more!”
Soltani’s designs have already caught the eye of Emily Blunt, Carrie Underwood, Eva Longoria and known for the mix of Hollywood glamour and ancient embellishment techniques. "I get inspired from every walk of life, it is something that catches me off guard most the time whether it's an elegant move of a stylish or a cobalt blue hue of Adriatic sea.... I just surrender to my imagination. My most favorite designs come from the moments when my own imagination surprises me."
She loves working with luxurious satin, chiffons, and engages her imagination with metallic fabric, feathers and other embellishments. Using a palette of jewel tones – ruby reds, emerald greens and vixen violet – Soltani designs with classic style for women with curves. But she works with black like the best of them. She favors the clean, sleek one-shouldered gown, short, flirty full skirts, and tiered ruffle silhouettes that are sexy and visually entertaining.
Although she has made her name with her red carpet A-list Hollywood designs, this is a woman who loves shoes and one day hopes to design them. "I would love to evolve into a fashion house that designs everything,” she says, “from couture, ready to wear, shoes, and accessories"
