“Gone with the Wind” is one of the greatest movies in cinematic history and its protagonist Scarlett O’Hara is unforgettable.  Great balls of fire! When Scarlett rips down those emerald green curtains to construct herself a new frock,  women everywhere in every decade understand she’s having a fashion moment.  War or not, Scarlett wants to look good! Polish Designer Ewelina Barlak, has found new inspiration in that old movie, which lays the foundation for Ewelina’s Autumn/Winter 2010 Collection, which she calls "Scarlett O'Hara Today".

“I spend my free time watching old movies.  They hold a special place in my life says Ewelina.  “Scarlett was full of passion -- she had a will made of steel and she never gave up.  She was an independent, strong and intelligent woman that took everything thrown her way head on. My new collection is for such a woman; decisive, firm in her beliefs and sure of her own strength and worth as well as her womanhood.”

Ewelina’s new collection, which she will show during iFashion Network Fashion Week in New York, will feature rich colors of greens, blacks, sapphires, pinks, reds, celadons ,turquoises, cremes,  and golds.  Working with silk and wool Ewelina has created styles reminiscent of the 1860s lace-up back with long dresses with beautifully detailed flies, flounces, bows.  Wool coats and jackets will feature stand-up collars and other tailoring of the era.

Ewelina, born in Poland,  began to draw attention to her designs when she among finalists of the Young Polish Designers contest in 2006.  By 2007 she had already launched her line Eweline B., well-known in Germany, with Beata Czajkowska as her business partner.  Their combined work brought forth projects for such corporations as Pricewatershouse Coopers, DHL, known restaurator Hawelka and Kamion Dance, a multiple Champion of Poland in Latino-Americana dances.
