Up-and-coming designer Michael Andolsek loves to create women’s clothing that is over-the-top and magnificent to look at. He includes jackets, skirts and dresses catered towards women. Andolsek was awaiting his interview with 2News, nervous about his first fashion show coming up.
Michael has always dreamed about working in fashion, designing his own collection. He was able to see his product in front of an audience, with 13 models gearing up to walk down the runway.
Andolsek is a ready-to-wear line that specializes in fancy gown and clothing. His vision for women is to have them look nice all the time, which is what his work clearly defines.
Behind his designs, Michael has autism. He described what it was like as a kid, having trouble socializing and not wanting to look others in the eye because he was nervous and did not know how to act. Even his interview with 2News was not the most exciting event because it is hard for Michael to understand how to speak, but you would not have noticed because he was extremely confident. He overcame that fear through fashion.
The fashion industry is not always the easiest environment to be placed in. It can range from smooth to complete chaos and designers learn how to deal with all the stress. Michael is doing fantastically and is keeping everything in line as best as he can.
He is also trying to spread awareness of autism by hiring employees who have autism to show society that a mental disorder does not prevent an individual from not achieving something great. By practice, Michael tries not to shy away from other people anymore. He thinks of creative ways to be comfortable around groups of people.
There are so many talented people with autism and 80 percent of them do not have jobs. Michael wants to destroy that concept and bring them into a high-class arena where their own talents can shine through.
Andolsek is not based on profit, it is based on how he is able to live out his dream of being a designer. Seeing his collection in person and meeting his impressive self-proves to be wonderful. He is friendly and what he does not show is embedded into his fashion.
